One of the first places that we went was "The Wet Lizzard" (After our issue I explain below!) ... it was an upstairs bar ... the lady who owns it is from ATLANTA!!! She was so sweet. She is in one of the pictures below. We tried the local Belizian beer ... it was really good! But, I had the BEST salsa in the entire world there!!! I wanted to pack it in my pants to take it home! LOLOLOL.....

So when we got to Belize ... we spent the first hour in a tour bus waiting and waiting and waiting for a tour guide. So, we got so mad that we got off of the bus and got our money back and hired a loal man to take us into the city .... in the 15 seater brand new van that his company had ... yeah when it came time to go ... it ended up being a 1980 Dodge Carivan with the "fuel light" on and the "check engine" light on too! It had no air and had a pvc pipe to open the door with! LOL..... Hey .. it wouldn't have been the same had that not happened ... the guy ended up being a great tour guide and we loved it!
They were a very very poor country too ... very sad ... lots of stray dogs too(no pictures though).
The guy (his name escapes me) said that they are required to go to school from preschool through high school... which they have to pay for ... education is not free there ... but there was a Wesley College (seen here) .... and they have an all boys high school ... and all girls high school and a mixed high school ... I thought that was so interesting.
We had a great time here .... this was the line on the docks for the boat taxi back to the ship! LOL
