Second Stop - Roatan Island, Honduras

<----This first image is seeing the island as we were approaching the dock ... it was so beautiful.

This is looking at the cement dock from our balcony ... those were Hondurans dressed in ceremonial garb and dancing with the people from the ship. It was so cool.

This was a photo from our balcony to the right ... you can see down the island ... isn't it gorgeous?

As we walked down the main road, you could look down the side roads and they were just loaded with little shopping areas. I think Eric and I loved this stop the most. It was not commercialized at all and we loved the shopping. They loved to bargain ... we never paid what they were asking .... their favorite saying was " Mamma, lookin's for free " ... "come in Mamma ... there's no price for lookin'"..... it cracked me up! LOL.....

As we were walking down the road shopping ... I saw this little girl with a MONKEY! .... I couldn't believe it ... I told her it was so cute and Eric went to pet it when it crawled on him!!! We couldn't believe it ... it was soooooo cool! Then as I reached out to do the same ... yeah he crawled onto me!!!! He was so soft and so very sweet! He really loved his mommy though and at every opportunity he would try and go back to her .. she was such a sweet little girl.

Of course we then found a bar owned by an American!!! It was very nice ... and Eric had to try a local cigar ... it's tradition! He tries one at every place we go ... especially in the Keys! LOL...

Again ... no makeup ... lookin lovely ... LOLOLOL....we were having so much fun.

This was one of the local bars. It was a room .. right next to the beach with a "pole barn" for our shade .. the chairs and table were on the sand .... then if you look to the right ... there was the dance floor and you can see our ship right past it... so "carribean style".

The living was very sad. The homes were very small like this one here. It really makes you appreciate what you have. Even though ... everyone I spoke to was so sweet. Never rude.

This is a shot from the dock going back to the ship. We had to go through 2 check points. This was the one by the boat and there was one by the main road ....

There were the dancers again ... they were going all day long. So ... Eric was dying to dance with them ... so he goes up and says ... "I don't know how to dance" ... the lady replies "Just shake your body!"... it was great!!! So, that's what he did and I have the "blackmail" to prove it!
