Eric: Honey, can you come out to the chicken coupe?
Me: yes
Eric: Lets walk behind it here towards the front yard (sort of dirt / pot holes and more dirt)
Me: Ok
Eric: Do you see anything interesting?
Me: No
Eric: Are you sure?
Me: yes
Eric: Look a little harder
Me: I still don't see anything
Eric: "Are you sure?
Me: O.M.G.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric: Um yes honey, that is correct, that is an Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnake in our front yard (honey, um honey .. where did you go?)
Me: O.M.G.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to get McKenna to see it in it's natural habitat so that she can know what to look for.
Eric: ok
McKenna: What daddy
Eric: (All the same statements as above)
McKenna: (All the same answers as mommy had above)
Eric: See .. that's why I want you to always wear shoes when you are playing outside
McKenna: for the next 155 years I am going to wear tennis shoes and socks!
Me: (cracking up)
Eric: (BANG)
Snake: Dead
Me: Happy
McKenna : Happy
Daddy: Happy
Snake: Not so happy.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it... it was amazing... I think Eric said the measurement on it was almost 5 feet. HUGE ... we do have pictures of it but only already dead. So, I'll post them when I can get them off Eric's camera. Makes you realize that it can happen in an instant. I will tell you that we are going to be so much more careful when we are out and about on the property.
